Religious Education sits at the heart of our School, and is a key element of pupil experience here.  The RE curriculum is supported by acts of collective worship, PSHCE and close links to the Chaplaincy.  We expect all colleagues to support the Christian ethos of our School and that is expressed through our aspiration for all to “let your light shine”.

You will be involved in developing a creative and inspiring curriculum within the RE team and will be part of our collaborative approach to planning.  You will make a great addition to our team if you are committed to delivering the best teaching, learning and assessment opportunities for our pupils and are capable of inspiring and motivating others through your passion for Religious Education.

The successful candidate will demonstrate that they are capable of delivering consistently excellent classroom teaching and learning, and that they are energetic, enthusiastic, creative and resilient.  A knowledge of current educational thinking and strategies to raise attainment is expected, and the experience of having taught to GCSE level.

Duke’s Secondary School

Learning Support Assistant

Duke’s Secondary School is looking to appoint an Learning Support Assistant to join the busy Additional Needs Team.  The additional Needs Team provides essential support for students who have a wide range of additional needs and/or disabilities. Learning support assistants are instrumental in promoting and developing independence and delivering bespoke support and interventions.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to join this forward-looking Church of England school in Ashington.  You will make a great addition to the team if you are flexible and committed to delivering high quality provision for all students while maintaining confidentiality.

The successful candidate should be enthusiastic, willing to help others and with an approach that is flexible to adapt to changing situations in a fast-moving environment.

The post is 32.5 hours per week (8:30am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday) working term time plus 5 days.

Salary band 3: £18,795 – £19,171 pro rata (Actual £14,182 – £14,446 per annum)
