An open letter from NCEA Trust Safeguarding and Compliance Director

To all parents/carers,

I am writing to you in my capacity as the safeguarding lead for the NCEA Trust to outline how we will continue to support families and children through the most recent school closure due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Even though our schools will be partially closed, we will endeavour to support and safeguard all young people and to offer advice and support where needed.

Whilst this is a generic letter, please be assured that your school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) will make personal contact as soon possible if appropriate, to hold conversations on how best to support individuals during this time.

Our schools will remain partially open for children of key workers, vulnerable children and so that food is provided for those who are entitled (details of this will be sent separately).

Staff will continue to check emails and respond to concerns, as well as alert DSLs via our Safeguard system to any issues arising .You can continue to use the school phone number and the Worry Wall to report any concerns, and we will do what we can to support and help.

Additionally there is a lot of information and resources to support you on our Trust website ncea.org.uk. If you have any concerns or need additional advice on protecting or safeguarding a young person, feel free to contact us via safeguarding@ncea.org.uk.

In an emergency call the Police on 999.

Kind regards,
Sandra Brown.

NCEA Trust Safeguarding and Compliance Director.
