Safeguarding

The School Safeguarding Team plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and protection of all pupils. Led by Jeanette Gadsby, Trust Safeguarding Lead, and the Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) and Deputy DSLs at each of our schools, the team is responsible for creating a culture where safeguarding is everyone’s priority. They ensure that the school meets its statutory obligations under safeguarding legislation, including the guidance set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education, and that all staff are confident in recognising and responding to concerns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain clear reporting procedures, regularly update safeguarding policies, and ensure that all staff are trained to recognise the signs of harm and understand how to act appropriately.
  • Works closely with external agencies, such as children’s social care, the police, and healthcare professionals, to provide coordinated support for vulnerable children and families.
  • Fosters an environment where children feel safe, valued, and listened to.
  • Contribute to whole-school strategies that promote emotional wellbeing, positive relationships, and digital safety
  • Building trusting relationships with pupils, families, and staff, the team helps create a supportive culture
