Salary: Band 3 £25,583 – £25,989 pro rata (actual £9,545 – £9,696)

Hours: 16 hours per week, term time plus 5 additional days (10am-2pm 4 days per week, some flexibility can be considered)

Duke’s Secondary School is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and reliable Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team and support both students and teachers throughout the busy academic year.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play an important role in the classroom, helping students access learning and achieve their full potential. Day to day responsibilities include supporting students in following class instructions, assisting the teacher with behaviour management, and helping to prepare lesson materials and classroom resources.

The successful candidate will be resilient, organised, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a busy classroom environment. You will support the delivery of lessons and encourage students to actively engage in learning activities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support students in accessing learning opportunities.
  • Encourage students to engage with and participate in activities set by the class teacher.
  • Build positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and responding to the needs of each individual learner.
  • Support the teacher in maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment through effective behaviour management.
  • Prepare, organise and maintain equipment and learning resources, assisting students in their use where required.
