The Trust has a unique opportunity for a Peripatetic Site Assistant to join the team and provide quality maintenance and caretaking support at William Leech Primary School.
This role is perfect for a skilled professional that is looking for a rewarding career in an environment that provides variety and purpose. The ideal candidate will help ensure that the schools building, grounds and facilities are safe, secure, and well maintained at all times.
The role will be focused on practical, hands-on maintenance and DIY repairs that ensure site presentation and safety. No two days are the same, and the role may require flexibility to travel between different sites, so a full UK driving licence is essential.
Main Responsibilities:
- General maintenance, such as basic plumbing, joinery, fixing work and minor electrical tasks (e.g. changing lightbulbs)
- Opening and closing the school buildings, conducting routine security/alarm checks, and responding to emergency call outs.
- Conduct essential safety checks such as emergency lighting tests, water monitoring, and fire alarm testing.
- Keep external areas clean, safe and clear of debris such as leaves and branches. This also includes gritting and snow clearance during bad weather.
- Support with daily school operations, such as setting up rooms and halls for events such as parents evening, exams, and assemblies.
