As the first Multi Academy Trust in the North East selected to join Swire Chinese Language Centre Newcastle and offer its exciting Chinese Language Programme in all of our schools, Northumberland Church of England Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and exceptional teacher of Mandarin.

This exciting post provides opportunity for pupils to acquire skills in the most widely-spoken language in the world, as well as generate an interest in Chinese culture. Supported by SWIRE Chinese Language Foundation and Swire Chinese Language Centre Newcastle, this post involves teaching Mandarin and Chinese culture across our eight existing schools and to schools who will join the trust. This includes teaching our five year Mandarin GCSE course, which in September will have its second cohort of pupils joining in Year 7.

You will join an ambitious MFL team and work across our primary, secondary and special schools and will also be a part of the family of SWIRE Chinese Language Centres around the country that regularly meet to share effective pedagogy and to improve and expand Chinese teaching in the UK.

Some of our schools are looking for Lunchtime Supervisors to support the children over the lunchtime period.

Duties include:

  • Supervise children in the dining hall, playground areas and on school premises
  • Social training eg. table manners, use of cutlery, consideration of others etc
  • Encouraging children to try new and unfamiliar foods
  • Deal with accidents and incidents in accordance with school procedures
  • Clean up spillages as necessary
  • Support children in their access to play

NCEA Trust has a rare opportunity for an experienced Marketing and Communications
Co-Ordinator to join the busy Central Services team at our head office in Ashington.

The Role

The Marketing and Communications Co-ordinator will have responsibility for a community role in ensuring that the positive work undertaken by the Trust and its schools is publicised to the maximum exposure, and in ensuring consistency and clarity of messaging to parents, staff and the wider community.

Responsible for developing and updating the Trust’s digital platforms, including websites and social media channels, creating written and graphic-based content where required and ensuring that all messaging is consistent with the Trust brand.

The Requirements

The successful candidate will have evidence of required skills and competencies (eg portfolio of written work produced at University/college).  NVQ Level 4 in a relevant discipline eg communication/media studies, business/marketing as well as excellent literacy/numeracy and IT skills. Enthusiasm, willingness to help others and the ability to adapt to changing situations in this demanding post.

The Trust’s ICT support service is a busy fast moving department, which currently has an opportunity for a professional, enthusiastic person to join the team.

Northumberland Church of England Academy Trust currently comprises eight schools as well as a central services team, our aim is to provide an inclusive and diverse learning environment for all of our students, enabling everyone in our community to “let their light shine”.

The successful candidate will contribute to developing, implementing and maintaining the Trust’s ICT strategy and services provision.  They will support the Network Manager and Technical Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the Trusts ICT environment, assisting in the installation, configuration and maintenance of ICT software, hardware and related ICT equipment.  They will also provide support to staff, pupils, visitors and clients to ensure business and curriculum outcomes are maximised.

The post will initially be split into 2 blocks. 50% will be at the Josephine Butler/Robert Stephenson campus which contain the Trust offices, Dukes Secondary School, Castle Special School and Bishops Primary School, working within the IT team.  The other 50% will be on our other primary school sites working independently, with support available from the IT team as needed.   As the Trust grows the split will gradually move to a greater emphasis on primary school support and independent working.

This position will require the post holder to operate across all the campuses in the Trust as required. The successful candidate will be approachable and resourceful with a willingness to learn.
